Dear All,

For those who are interested in Root Cause Failure Analysis Materials and Articles, I have made some presentation which you can download for free on my website at the articles forum at

http://www.rsareliability.com/articles.htm

This would be helpful for those individuals starting up on their RCFA analysis,

My Warm Regards,

Sir Rolly,

Do you have also the factors for causing the metals to be deformed?

Thanks,

Mike

Hello Michael,

May I ask if we have met before and have you attended my training, and what company you are working.

As for your question : Metals deform because of heat and not load.  This is the main reason why metals become ductile.

A Brittle Fracture will have very little or no deformation at all, once the part crack, you are tempted to glue it together which of course will not work.  This is caused by excessive load or force .   On the other hand, a Ductile Fracture cause the part to deform, this is due to excessive heat or rise in temperature.

Hope this helps,  Smiley

My Warm Regards,
