Why shafts get bent ?
09/17/07 at 07:37:48
It has been observed that shaft get bent for various rotating equipments like pumps, gearboxes etc. Shaft bending of a agitator is quite obvious, dry running or inadeqaute liquid level.
What precautions are required ?

Dear Hasmukh,
It is very difficult to speculate why your shafts bend unless we can perform a thorough Failure Analysis on the bent shaft.  If there is some form of deformation, then consider heat to be a factor.  Consideer also alignment practices.  This is all I can contribute for now.
My warm regards,
