Reliability-Centred Maintenance Master Class – March 24, 25 & 26, 2010

Great Eastern Hotel, Makati Avenue, Makati, Philippines

Time : 8:30 to 5:00 pm

One of the underlying problems and continuing pressures we realize on maintenance and often asks ourselves is, "Is there a structured and robust approach on how we can totally maintain our equipment and assets?"

Many industries realize that despite their very best and noble efforts which they carry on with their traditional scheduled and Preventive Maintenance, a lot of problems still occurs in the equipment.

We have conducted a survey from different industries on the top problems maintenance people often realize in their Preventive Maintenance and a short lists are as follows :

·     Still reactive even with a sound Preventive Maintenance program                         - 41 votes

·     Preventive Maintenance is waived to cope up with operations                              - 40 votes

·     High incidence of infant mortality failures where problem exists after

performing an overhaul and replacement on the equipment                                  - 39 votes

·     Add on PM Checklists Syndrome – where the number of activities

performed on Preventive Maintenance continues to grow                                     - 35 votes

The question, is there a better way on how to maintain our equipment the right way ? The answer is “Yes”.  In lieu of this, we would like to invite you to this 3 day Master Class on Reliability-Centred Maintenance (In conformance to SAE JA 1011) on March 24, 25 and 26, 2010 from 8:30 to 5:00 pm to discuss a robust and rigid process on what it takes to maintain our assets correctly.

In this era of generation, our goal on maintenance should not only be focused on having a high availability and low cost of maintenance but rather making the equipment more reliable and having both safety and environmental integrity which means that failures of the equipment should provide the highest safety standards and no detrimental damage to the environment.   This can only be established by understanding the consequences of every single failure that can affect our equipment and assets.

In a nut shell, Reliability -Centred Maintenance is a process used to determine the maintenance requirements of any physical asset in its operating context or Reliability -Centred Maintenance is a process used to determine what must be done to ensure that any physical asset continues to do whatever its users want it to do in its present operating context.  It will answer the Basic 7 Questions:

1. What are the functions and associated performance standards of the asset in its

   present operating context?

2. In what ways does it fail to fulfill its functions?

3. What causes each functional failures?

4. What happens when each functional failure occurs?

5. In what ways does each failure matter?

6. What can be done to predict or prevent each failure?

7. What should be done if a suitable proactive task cannot be found?

These are some of the feedbacks on those who have attended our RCM Master Class  in the past

Highly innovative way to teach the toughest function in an industry.  It is probably the only thing when implemented that can transform the plant a better place to work in.  Workshops were carried out practically so we could realize in a true sense the actual value of RCM.  Also some intangible values were taught which also could be carried out by us way back.  Pradeep Nair, Manager, Electical

Mr. Rolly is one of the World Class Best Trainers I have come across during my 28 years career. The course was built up very methodically in the most simplest way. His presentation skills and his command on the various Maintenance Strategies made the workshop very interesting.  Mr. Rolly is one of the few Maintenance Professionals I have come across who is very much attached and dedicated to the Maintenance Profession. His wealth of experience and his humor made the RCM Workshop even more interesting. The structuring and delivery of the concept enables all the participants to initiate RCM studies very confidently. The training material provided by Mr. Rolly was excellent and was prepared with great care to ensure that all the participants are fully been benefited. I am sure that all the participants in this three day Workshop have been benefited by his technical and intellectual sharing of his knowledge.  From Srinagesh Dy, General Manager, Reliance
